JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: TEMPORARY
ENRICHMENT EDUCATOR/COORDINATOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
Bachelor’s Degree
in Education or related field plus 1 year half-time experience working with middle
school age children. Substitution for
Bachelor’s Degree may include enrollment in an Institution of Higher Education
in a degreed program and 2 years half-time experience working with middle school
age children.
2.
Have the personal
qualities to work with middle school-age children under supervision, and the
ability to relate well to parents, staff and the community in which the
children live; bi-lingual where appropriate.
3.
Must successfully
complete a BRC application.
4.
Basic computer
literacy skills are required with the ability to neatly organize, file and maintain
confidential information to comply with Square One policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Responsible for the
coordination of enrichment activities, including but not limited to, homework
help, literacy, math, science, and performing arts activities, character
development programming, and arts and crafts projects.
2.
Responsible for
establishing and maintaining an effective communication system with Springfield
Public Schools staff and families about relevant academic information and
support resources, materials and need areas that may be benefit the children and
families enrolled in the program.
3.
Maintain accurate
attendance records and other program documentation as needed.
4.
Work
cooperatively as a member of a team to support an environment that complements
the educational components of the school system while encouraging and fostering
individual development of the students.
5.
Other duties as
assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
1.
Ability to stand
or sit for long periods of time during working hours and on special
events. Bending and lifting may be
required.
2.
Good auditory,
verbal and sensory skills and abilities.
Mental/

detail involving normal mental and visual attention.
