JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Scope: The Mission of Square One’s LAUNCH program is based upon the education and acqusition of knowledge pertaining to the benefits of physical activity, proper nutrition, and other health topics.  Through these critical subjects we hope  to empower children to improve their own quality of life. LAUNCH’s goal is to provide equal opportunity to all children of backgrounds despite race, gender and economic status. Every child, regardless of ability and ability level, is warranted the opportunity to participate in the program and its activities maximizing  their success.  Through this  innovative program it is our hope that not only will children learn the benefits of physical activity and proper nutrition but also  bestow character traits that are essential to the growth and development as a successful individual.

 

Job Title:  LAUNCH CLINIC FACILITATOR

Qualifications:

 

1.   Demonstrate friendly and professional attitude toward children and youth.

2.   Strong team player with the ability to work independently. 

      3.   Must be in good physical health and have a passion for active involvement with children.

4.      Must have reliable transportation to travel to each LAUNCH clinic, including off site locations for clinics as needed.

5.      A flexible schedule is required.   

6.      Must be able to successfully pass a background record check.

7.      Effective communication skills are required, including oral and written.

8.      BS/BA in Physical Education or enrolled in an accredited teacher preparation program in Physical Education at an accredited Institution of Higher Education.

9.      Excellent organizational abilities are necessary to document program specifics and outcomes.

10.  Up-to- date valid certifications in First Aid and CPR

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1.      Through the implementation of LAUNCH lesson plans, the facilitator will introduce, assist, and teach children about the importance of health, nutrition and physical activity. 

2.      Work collaboratively with other LAUNCH facilitators to successfully introduce and monitor physical activity engagement of children.

3.      Encourage the development of social, emotional, physical health through learning activities and environmental set up.

4.      Oversee and retain all required documentation per clinic, e.g. Activity logs, evaluations, program data, injury reports.

5.      Ensure a positive fun, and engaging environment for all program participants

6.      Report child concerns and provide feedback as it relates to the health and wellness of the children.

7.      Implement LAUNCH program enhancements to curricula.

8.      Attend trainings on LAUNCH implementation.

 

 

 

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

1.      Must be able to perform interactive group exercises including, but not limited to walking, running, jumping, jogging, bending stooping twisting, kneeling, squatting, standing for moderate to long periods of time.  

2.      Must possess good hand dexterity with the ability to write legibly.
