JOB DESCRIPTION

 

TITLE:  healthy families coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Master’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field plus 5 years experience in working at a community based agency with families of young children.

 

  1. Two years supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership skills are required. 

 

  1. Ability to multitask, strong attention to detail and organization; ability to prioritize and complete tasks prior to deadlines. 

 

  1. Ability to work cooperatively and as a member of a team.  Must conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.

 

  1. Demonstrated ability to understand and respond to the needs of families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. 

 

  1. Desire to continually learn and improve skills through training and use of reflective supervision.

 

  1. Requires reliable transportation to travel to training programs and other sites throughout the area. 

 

  1. Basic computer proficiency required.  

 

  1. Bilingual skills in both English & Spanish are strongly preferred.  

 

  1. Flexible hours are necessary. 

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

 

The Healthy Families Coordinator will perform a variety of tasks that may include, but which are not limited to:

 

  1. Provide reflective supervision and support to supervisory staff, according to Healthy Families America and Healthy Families Massachusetts requirements, including attention to caseload management, staff productivity, budget monitoring, and Program Development Plan development.

 

  1. Analyze data from electronic and paper records of program participants to ensure compliance with necessary data requirements and to ensure quality of services being provided.

 

  1. Gather information needed for monthly report to funder.

 

  1. Pursue ongoing professional development, including training through CTF as well as other needed trainings.

 

  1. Oversee the planning of parent groups and other program activities.

 

  1. Plan and facilitate regular Healthy Families staff meetings to ensure program quality, consistency, and staff cohesion and morale.

 

  1. Develop and facilitate meetings of the Healthy Families Advisory Council.

 

  1. Evaluate supervisors’ performance according to Square One policies and procedures.

 

  1. In conjunction with the Vice President of Family Services, interview, select, hire, train and evaluate Square One Healthy Families employees as  needed.

 

  1. Actively participate in required meetings and trainings as determined by Square One and by Healthy Families Massachusetts.

 

  1. Develop and maintain appropriate community partnerships and participate in community networking opportunities.

 

  1. Maintain the strictest confidentiality of documents, discussions, resources and information when working with families.  

 

  1. Other duties as assigned.

 

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

 

1.      Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time during working hours and on special occasions.  

 

2.      Ability to effectively utilize computer software programs with proven ability to have manual dexterity to maintain specific databases and reports. 

 

3.      Excellent auditory, verbal and sensory skills and abilities.    

 

4.      Ability to travel throughout the Healthy Families catchment area by conventional means including motor vehicle and the like in addition to required training sessions as identified by Square One and Healthy Families Mass. 

 

MENTAL/VISUAL DEMAND:

 

1.      High attention to detail involving normal mental and visual attention.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

1.      Professional business office setting.
