Title: Human Resource Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS:
·
Associates
Degree in Human Resources, Education, Psychology, Human Resource Development or
associated fields; Bachelors Degree preferred.
·
2-5
years experience in Human Resources and/or Employee Development is required.
·
Bilingual
Skills in English/Spanish is preferred;
·
Experience
and working knowledge of recruitment is preferred.
·
Demonstrated
advanced computer skills in MS Office are required.
·
Strong
organizational abilities & administrative skills in handling office equipment
including computers, fax, copier, mail postage machines, etc.
·
Demonstrated flexibility, self-direction and attention to detail
in prioritizing and completing task assignments.
·
Excellent communications and strong interpersonal skills with the
ability to work with individuals at all levels are required.
·
Demonstrated
skills and/or knowledge in all areas of Human Resource Development.
·
Proven
history of maintaining accurate and confidential information and records.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The HR Assistant supports the
Vice President of Human Resources and Senior HR Administrator in managing all
facets within the Human Resource Department.
The HR Assistant assists in all components within the Human Resource Department
including but not limited to: Benefit Administration, Organizational
Development, Employee and Labor Relations, Employee Communication, Workforce
Development, Performance Management, Health and Safety, Employee Development
and Training.
HUMAN RESOURCES
·
Assists
with administering benefits and necessary paperwork required to enroll or
process changes for Health and Welfare Benefits, Workers’ Compensation,
Disability, FMLA, Retirement, and Insurance claims. Work with third party vendors for COBRA,
Unemployment, etc.
·
Assist
Vice President with administrative duties including preparation of personnel
audits and other compliance requirements to meet fed., state and regulatory
requirements.
·
Assist
Vice President of Human Resources by gathering and preparing materials
necessary for unemployment hearings, legal claims or other required data
gathering.
·
Assists
with interviewing candidates for employment opportunities, representing Agency
at job fairs, processing background record checks, and other required
documentation including letters of offer, etc.
·
Maintains
an active employee list through interviews and documentation of credentials
including availability with a constant focus on communications with hiring
managers to fulfill staffing needs.
·
Provide
Vice President with resources and assistance in employee and executive
coaching.
·
Assists
Senior HR Administrator with a variety of administrative duties including but
not limited to; creating spreadsheets and tracking employee leaves of absences,
HRIS data entry and HRIS reporting, employment verifications and letters, filing,
organization and auditing employee files.
·
Maintains
updated employee new hire packets, reviews new hire paperwork, to include I-9 documentation
and verification and assists with employee ID badge processing.
·
Assist
in providing informational resources to employees for professional development
and or training in various areas based on needs.
·
Maximize
employee potential by providing education and resources to Managers and to Employees
needed to increase employee performance and productivity.
·
Other
duties as assigned.
