                     Job Description

 

           KITCHEN MANA GER

Qualifications:                          

1.    Have personal qualities to relate with staff, families, interns, volunteers, visitors, and    vendors.

 

2.    Have a High School Diploma/GED and more than one year experience in management or a supervisory role in the Food Service Industry.

 

3.    Possess a valid Serv-Safe Certification.

4.    Have basic computer proficiency, familiarity or experience.

5.    Demonstrates organizational ability in prioritizing and completing assigned tasks.

6.    Flexible weekly schedule.

7.    Reliable transportation to travel to various sites and travel to the Food Bank as required.

Summary of Description of Duties:

Assists the Director of Food Services in Meal Planning, Monitoring, Purchasing and Record Keeping.

Job Duties:

1.       Monitors sites to ensure the Kitchen meets the required safety and health inspections and comply with the requirements by the Department of Education and Department of Early Education and Care licensing regulations.

2.       Assist in planning and purchasing menu items for special events.

3.       Ability to travel to and utilize Food Bank purchases on a regular basis.

4.       Works closely with transportation to coordinate the distribution of kitchen supplies and foods to all sites.

5.       Maintains documented inventory of food and supplies at Center Kitchens. 

6.       Orchestrate and assist kitchen staff in follow through with special functions at the centers.   

7.       Assist kitchen staff in management of the center kitchens.

8.       Participate with vendors meetings.

9.       Provide, prepare and report on test recipes.

10.   Performs other related duties as required by the Dir. Of Food Services.

11.   Handle job responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Food Services.

Physical Demand 

 

1.        Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time during working hours and on special events.    Bending and lifting may be required to monitor products and supplies and inventory.   

 

2.        Ability to effectively utilize computer software programs with proven ability to have manual dexterity to maintain specific databases and reports. 

 

3.        Excellent auditory, verbal and sensory skills and abilities.    

 

Mental/ Visual Demand 

 

1.        Attention to detail involving normal mental and visual attention.

 

Working Conditions

 

1.        Business office setting with the ability to work in storage areas and Center  Kitchens.
