SPRINGFIELD DAY NURSERY

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

Title:    ASSISTANT Cook

 

 

Qualifications:

 

1.        Be at least 18 years of age.

 

2.        Ability to relate well to children and staff.

 

3.        Meet required health standards; physical exams and produce negative Mantoux test.

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

 

 1.  Assist cook in maintaining  sanitary and well organized kitchen and food storage area which meets Health

      Department standards.

 

 2.  Properly store food before and after cooking.

 

 3.  Wash and sterilize kitchen equipment including but not limited to:  dishes, pots, utensils after each meal. 

 

 4.  Clean kitchen appliances and surfaces according to designated schedule. 

 

 5.  Assist with inventories on all supplies, and equipment in cooking and food storage area.

 6.  Assumes all responsibilities in absence of cook.

 7.  Perform other duties designated by Center Director and/or Nutritionist.

 8.  Report any problems or concerns immediately to Center/Program Director and/or Nutritionist.

 

 9.  Attend meetings and workshops as scheduled by Nutritionist.
