JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB
TITLE: LEAD TEACHER/DIRECTOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
Have
the personal qualities to work effectively with children, parents, staff and site
based personnel.
2.
Hold
the following EEC certifications:

DIRECTOR
I
·
LEAD
TEACHER, INFANT/TODDLER
·
LEAD
TEACHER, PRESCHOOL
3.
The
ability to obtain within (3) three months or have current certificates for CPR,
First Aid and Food Health and Safety.
4.
Have
at least two (2) years teaching experience in an early childhood setting AND at
least one (1) year of experience in supervision.
AREAS
OF RESPONSIBILITY:
1.
Participate
in the hiring process for new staff
2.
Participate
in the planning and delivery of staff development activities
3.
Conduct
intake interviews
4.
Provide
training in classroom management and lesson planning
5.
Plan
and conduct weekly staff meetings with Program Staff
6.
Supervise
staff and daily activities
7.
Maintain
a professional demeanor when interacting with parents, social workers, on site personnel
and others
8.
Supervise
the completion of daily reports to parents
9.
Ensure
compliance with EEC regulations regarding group size and composition, staffing
ratios and licensing standards
10.
Complete
51A reports as needed
11.
Participate
in the completion of staff performance evaluations
12.
Assume
total responsibility for Program
13.
Conduct Intakes for families
14.
Other
administrative duties as assigned by Supervisor
CLASSROOM:
1.
Perform
daily health, safety checks and assure that the children are in a safety and
protected environment.
2.
Participate
in lesson plan review and implementation.
3.
Schedule,
perform and document monthly evacuation drills.
4.
Maintain
Incident Log and Injury Log.
5.
Share
information about children with staff, including but not limited to: allergies,
diet restrictions, special instructions.
6.
Maintain
an attractive, clean and orderly classroom environment in cooperation with
other staff.
7.
Design
and implement a developmentally appropriate daily program.
8.
Document
attendance at sufficient training hours to meet EEC requirements and maintain
level of qualification.
9.
Assist
children entering the program each day, including nametags, labeling
possessions and clothing, adding names to sign-in board.
10.
Supervise
classroom and behavior management, intervening and re-directing children and/or
staff as needed.
OTHER:
1.
Prepare
meals and snacks as necessary.
2.
Clean
program space, in cooperation with other staff, when building custodian is not
available.
3.
Perform
laundry duties as needed.
4.
Other
duties as assigned by Supervisor
